I believe
by Kent Franks
Here is another pet peeve of mine. First of all, let me clarify that I have no issue with the great religious books that discuss deities.
My concern lies with the individuals who worship and believe in them. I am not suggesting that these individuals are incorrect for doing so; I simply want to point out that they base their faith on books written 1,800 to over 2,000 years ago.
They wholeheartedly believe in all the extraordinary stories and miracles mentioned in these books without any doubt.
However, when someone comes along and shares their own contemporary experiences or insights, they are often dismissed as crazy or unbelievable.
It is ironic that these same individuals believe in a book written in an era when recorded history was limited, without the benefit of video or audio evidence.
They rely solely on the written words of people who lived in a time characterized by superstition, ignorance, and a lack of understanding. They attributed anything they could not comprehend to either biblical or demonic origins.
In this regard, I urge people to employ common sense and rationality when evaluating information.
I am not suggesting that their beliefs are inherently wrong, but I believe it is essential to conduct research and verify facts before forming strong convictions
I mean even in this day and age we have trouble believing photos and videos because they are photoshopped and edited so we can't believe stuff that's happening today even though we got video and audio.
But people want to believe stuff way back in the old days when they have nothing but people writing stuff down, paintings and making statues and sculptures
