Up In Smoke

According to Dan Patrick, his pet project SB3, to eliminate THC products, was for the protection of our kids.

—>Think about that for a moment.

Anything they want to restrict is always for the protection of our kids.

It is already illegal for shops to sell THC products to anyone under 21 years of age. If a shop is selling to kids, then shut the shop down. It's already the law. So, who is he actually protecting? It's not about the kids

All Dan Patrick did is open the market back up to the Black Market, meaning, no regulations, no taxes for the state, and more potent or even deadly laced products to enter our country. Products laced with fentanyl or other illicit enhancing drugs. While other states are moving to regulate the products, Texas is going backwards. This move will put many at risk as they have to move back to pharmaceutical drugs that are addicting and could kill many of those addicted to such drugs.

The state will lose millions of dollars in tax revenue, and many small businesses will be forced to close their doors. In a state where they can't seem to provide property tax relief, they appear eager to destroy businesses and lose millions in tax revenue.

Let that sink in. Lose millions in tax revenue but can't seem to provide property tax relief. Close thousands of small businesses, and people lose their income, but let's tax the people out of their homes and properties. Yet Dan Patrick claims it's for the future of the children. Children who can't buy the very product Dan claims to be protecting them from. If children are buying the product, then jail the one's selling the product to them.

The truth of the matter is THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the psychoactive compound in cannabis, has an extremely low risk of causing fatal overdoses. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), the lethal dose of THC is so high that overdosing on cannabis alone is nearly impossible. Unlike opioids, which can suppress breathing, THC does not affect the brain’s respiratory control system. It has hundreds of medical uses, almost impossible to overdose on, but let's ban the substance, for the safety of our kids. Let's put people in jail for something that medically works, but is now illegal, all for the safety of the Kids. Kids who can't buy the stuff in any shop in the country legally. Let's put it back out on the streets for the drug dealers, who have access to our kids.
