Legal vs Constitutional
I have to post this again, because I heard the term Legal Gun Owner and I would never make a law going against legal gun ownership, but, from another candidate running for office....I keep seeing the term legal gun owner thrown around, I have even seen it said, that we in Law Enforcement will never go after the legal gun owners.
I have read and re-read the Bill of Rights and the rest of the Constitution. I have given Constitution 101 Classes and given classes on Robert's Rules of Order.
Someone define for me just what is a legal gun owner. If you tell me it's someone not convicted of a felony, that argument will not fly. You see that became a law back in 1968, until then, even a felon, once he did his time was allowed to own a gun.
I bring this up and point this out, because as I watch the liberals in Congress go after our Second Amendment, As they march full speed ahead to destroy our Bill of Rights, Once they pass certain laws, it will turn many of us into felons. As we watch them dismantle our First Amendment, Turning Free Speech into Hate Crimes, Turning our Churches into a mockery by telling our Pastors that preaching Morals, and Biblical Principals can now be construed as a Hate Crime, and those who adhere to those principals are guilty of hate crimes, just how long will it be, before we are all criminals in the eyes of the law?
Are we then considered legal gun owners in the eyes of the law? After all, we are now criminals in the eyes of the law. As we watch all these equal rights ushered upon us allowing men to go into women's bathrooms and more, Boys in Girls locker rooms and what have you, just how long will it be before we are criminals because we disagree with those policies? If you’re convicted of a hate crime, it's a felony. So you have to ask, where do we draw the line. What is a legal gun owner when they pass laws that turn us from legal gun owners to criminals? If they tell us we have to register and pay outrages taxes on the guns we own, and you can't afford those taxes, what are you going to do? You just went from a legal gun owner and they turned you into a criminal. Where do we draw the line and who determines who is and isn't a legal gun owner? After all Congress passed a law and now says we are no longer legal gun owners, unless we pay those outrages taxes and register all our guns. Where does Law Enforcement draw the line? Legal Gun Ownership is a term, that should never be used in my opinion, because it's subjective. The Second Amendment does not say these people can own a gun, but those people can't. As a matter of fact, nowhere in the Bill of Rights, nor any other part of the Constitution does it make that determination. Laws contrary to the Constitution, dating back to 1934, made that determination. I have yet to see where the Constitution itself has been amended to reflect those draconian laws. How long before we legal gun owners are subjected to laws that turn us from legal to illegal? How long before these liberal law makers turn us all into the very felons who are not supposed to own guns? It's sad that we have to think in these terms, but this is now the world we live in. How long? and who decides? What's legal today can be a felony tomorrow...
