We Got This

Bad things happen to good people. Unfortunately, in Texas on the 4th of July, bad things happened to little girls. I want to say up front, Jesus didn’t kill those babies. Atheists and other nonbelievers will leap upon this event. Where is your God now?

He is right there! From the Director of Camp Mystic who gave his life trying to save just one more little girl. The daughter, trying to find her father’s body after he saved her mother and was swept away. Jesus plainly said My Kingdom is not of this world. Jesus waited in His Kingdom for these precious little angels to arrive. Little ladies enjoying summer camp before they grew up and life took its toll on them. Pure little girls who only expected to swim in the very river that would ultimately take their lives.

Life delivers drop kicks that challenge faith. Some blame God, but that same God gave one girl the strength to swim twelve miles and climb a tree to give us one miracle.

And it’s amazing at how the so-called “Woke” people are not awake enough to see what is right before their eyes. Can you imagine finding little girls tangled in the brush of a river wash. And finding another, and another, and another. And you blame a God you claim you don’t believe in!

In my company these are our people. We make our films in the very Hill Country the Guadeloupe destroyed on Independence Day. I don’t have detailed facts but I’ll give you a dollar to a taco that some of our crew are down there right now looking for little girls or grieving for family that they will never find.

But this is Texas! We got this. We will survive. But we won’t blame Jesus, and we won’t forget. Just like we didn’t forget The Alamo, or The University of Texas Tower, or Luby’s. Because that’s why God gave you us. To remind you how Americans are supposed to act. We got this! You go and worry about your tax breaks, some war that will not make any difference at all, or what gender you will be today. We’ll bury our little girls!

  1. Jesus wept. He does care and all we can do is Accept what he gives us.
