America is Not a Christian Nation

 by Kent Franks

I understand that some individuals may find it difficult to accept, but it is important to acknowledge the foresight of our founding fathers who established the constitutional provision for religious freedom approximately 160 years ago. They recognized the potential for religious zealots to attempt to alter the system according to their own beliefs. Therefore, the intention was always to ensure the freedom to worship any deity, regardless of their origin, including Mother Teresa, Genghis Khan, Confucius, Buddha, Odin, Zeus, Rah, or Thor.

The fundamental concept of this nation is the freedom to worship as one pleases and to choose the object of one's worship. However, it is concerning that certain individuals, particularly those associated with a specific political movement, are attempting to transform this nation into a solely Christian nation. This goes against the original intent of the founding fathers, who envisioned a nation that embraces religious diversity and inclusivity. Unfortunately, it seems that some people have forgotten or intentionally disregarded this important aspect of our nation's history.
